Mr. Johnathan Doerr
Mr. Johnathan Doerr has spent over a decade in the performing arts world. He founded and directed a nationally touring performing arts organization for 8 years, growing the organization exponentially year after year before moving to Colorado. Mr. Doerr has been a part of the performing arts world in various ways and has consulted or assisted in the production of a variety of shows in over 15 states, from marching band to the stage. Many of his former students have gone on to perform with prestigious organizations such as the Colorado Ballet, preprofessional youth programs on Broadway, and even the “President’s Own Marine Band”. He is also proud to have several former students go on to become performing arts educators themselves, achieving amazing things with their own programs. Mr. Doerr is an educator because he loves to inspire a passion for the performing arts in his students and see them shine. He strives to help every student reach their full potential, while helping them discover a deep love of the performing arts. Mr. Doerr believes the performing arts has a “home” for every person, and strives to help everyone around him feel seen, loved, included, and supported. He cannot wait to work with you and your family!
Ms. Meghan Pemberton
A performer since age 9, Meghan has had the pleasure of working with Valley Youth Theatre, The Black Theatre Troupe, Maricopa Community Theatre, the Phoenix Symphony, Xpressions Arts Academy, and others. Favorite roles include Lily and Rose in ‘The Secret Garden’ Marian in ‘The Music Man’ Sandy and Marty in ‘Grease,’ Ladybug in 'James and the Giant Peach', and Cinderella in ‘Into The Woods’. Ms. Meghan is the Artistic Director for Rising Star, and is so grateful to have the best job in the world!
Mr. Bob is a seasoned actor, singer, and performer who has worked with various theater organizations in Colorado over the years. He serves as the Musical Director for Rising Star's youth and community theater productions. With years of experience both on stage and behind the scenes. Bob spends his day in the world of Space policy and loves flexing his creative muscles at the theater at night!

With a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education and years of experience working with individuals of all abilities, Jen brings passion and dedication to the exceptional needs cast. Her extensive music background and love for theatre shine as she creates a space where special needs performers can thrive and showcase their talents. As a proud theatre mom to a performer, a stage crew member, and a budding young actor, Jen is a true advocate for the transformative power of the arts. She is honored to help every individual find their moment in the spotlight.
Ms. Shelby is one of our returning directors! She has been doing theater since she was 6 years old. She has been a part of 17 shows and has directed 4! Theater is near and dear to Ms. Shelby's heart and is definitely one of her favorite passions! Catch her starring in the leading role of Sophie in Mama Mia, at Douglas County High School in February! Ms. Shelby brings fun and excitement to the casts that she directs!

Ms. Emma is a Colorado Native and currently attends Ponderosa High School! Her theater career started when she was 4 years old and has continued into her high school years! She currently serves as the vice president of the Ponderosa High School theater company! She has true passion for directing and working with children!
Ms. KJ Thomas
KJ has been a long time assistant director and has now been promoted to director! She has been involved in theatre since elementary school. From actor to tech crew to director, she has loved exploring every role that the performing arts have to offer. KJ is excited to direct because she will get to use her creative talents to bring a show to life and help children grow their acting talents.
